Pasture Board

We love big pastures for the OTTB to run and play in. Almost every day you can see them doing what they love best and we give them space. But we don't know how to grow great pasture, and we don't have time to devote to it. We would rather buy top quality hay from the Shenandoah valley and keep it in front of them all the time. It keeps them healthy and they are all in good weight and heathy without a lot of additional feeding.

We believe plenty of good hay and lots of room to run is the best environment for a horse. At one time we had a 24 stall aisle barn. When it came down in the snow of 2010 we never rebuilt it because our horses enjoy being out. They have shelter and good water but no stalls.

Very friendly people. It's a small group and we have no problems in the barn.

However, we are a show and lesson barn. We are happy to welcome new people and new riders but we require our boarders to take at least two lessons a month, at the reduced "owner, lessee" rate because we want people who are interested in good riding practices.
