Horse Experience

For those who are not horse regulars, we offer several opportunities to interact with horses on a one time basis.

You may be traveling, one of many who visit central VA every year. We have historic sites, beautiful vineyards and lots of antique stores. You may be visiting UVA or hiking one of the many trails. While you are visiting you, your family and friends and even your co-workers may want to include a horse experience.

Reservation are a must. No Drop In' Please

Brush, cuddle, lead

Enjoy learning about horses. Brush, cuddle, lead them and ask questions about horses. We will be glad to tell you stories, talk about anatomy and care, go through the history of the horse and human relationship, talk about horse breeds or just let you play with the horse and feed treats.

Great for a first time close up experience of horses, children, adults, elderly or those with disabilities.

Team Building

Bring your family, friends, group or co-workers and challenge yourselves to working together to control a horse through some fun obstacles. Build trust with one person riding and the other leading. If you are good, you can even add a ball or obstacles. Divide into teams and compete for points. We can develop this in many different ways with different goals and objectives. Corporate events are welcome and we can plan a half day or full day of team building.

Overcome Fear

People of all ages have a fear of horses. They may be unknown. They are large and powerful animals. They may seem unpredictable Some people have had a bad experience in the past.

Sometimes overcoming a fear is an important life challenge. We will carefully work with you, going at a pace that is comfortable for you. This is a one on one experience and safety is a priority. Have trust in our years of experience with horses in general and our horses in particular.

Learn Control

We all feel better about ourselves and have more self-confidence when we are in control of a situation. Learn the basics of starting, turning and stopping a horse. Experience the feel of leadership as you make decisions for you and your mount.

Once you master the basics, and if you are interested, you can maneuver you and your horse through challenging obstacles. Go around barrels, go over round poles and put the obstacles together in a pattern. Bring a friend and you can compete to see who has learned the most!
