Horses For Sale

For many years we were a successful sale barn with a good reputation for good horses at fair prices that were honestly represented.  It finally became too hard to run the lesson and show program and sell horses at the same time, so we aren't a true sale barn any longer. But from years of being in the business we have some great connections to good horses when they need to find new homes. On a much smaller scale, we still take great pride in offering a few great horses a year to new homes.  We don't want to see the horse go to a home that isn't going to fit any more than you want a horse that doesn't fit your needs and you will find our first questions will alway be "What do you want to do with the horse?" and "What type of rider?"  Don't try to buy a winning jumper that will carry your 5 year old child!  We want to educate and fit horse and rider together.

We don't keep anything on the property that isn't a nice, well broke and well-trained horse.  We like getting in new horses and working with them, it's good experience for our more advanced riders and Kandi still loves to work with greener horses... even at 76 she is still a horse trainer at heart.  We enjoy finding good horses and then matching them to good homes. That being said, if they are suitable in temperament for her to ride at her age, they are suitable for most other riders. We usually have a few really nice horses for sale or lease.  Both Kandi and Tammy love to buy horses, so if we bring in something new, something has to go or we are bursting at the seams in a year.  What we sell are horses we just don't use as much for a variety of reasons, mostly because we have enough horses in that level to meet the needs of our students.

Quincy  Morgan X Peruvian Paso

2011        14.3h         $3500

Quincy is a fantastic trail horse and looking for a relaxed riding partner.

He's a solid ride and concentrates on his rider rather than things and horses around him.

First Quincy loves people. He is doscile on the ground, will come to you in the pasture and always looks and acts happy. He is willing to do what you ask of him and learns things quickly. He LOVES trail rides and has no buck, rear, or spook.

His unique breeding gives him a trot that is extremely smooth. You can easily sit it at any speed.

He likes the outdoors better than our indoor arena. He has no spook, isn't herd-bound, will ride right past other horses. He doesn't buck or rear and has no vices. He ties to the trailer, loads easily.

Carrying a 12 year old over fences

We are selling him because he prefers trail riding and although he will take both leads, from all his time riding fence and moving cattle, he strongly prefers his left lead. We want to find him a home where he can shine on the trails with his style and attitude.

He will always stop and will stand quietly for any length of time without moving a foot.

Cricket (Itzfriendshipshot)

2018       15.2 1/2h         $3000

Cricket is the right size for a comfortable ride. She gets into a grove with her rider and enjoys her job. She is quiet enough for almost any rider. Rides trail and in the ring. She will grow to be a real equine partner.
She works independently of other horses. Notice that at 4:35 of the video on the top left, another horse runs into her and she doesn't react. At 5;40 she makes a soft, easy circle. She has a good mouth, is easy to stop and flexes in turns.

Cloverdale

2008       15.2h         $1500

Like all of us with some arthritis, she does better in the warmer weather and with a little bute when ridden.

This mare has a little arthritis and can do light riding but not a lot of hard riding. She is a SUPER, quiet child's first horse, wife's horse, guest horse. She will not pass a vet check, but we have been using her for lessons and she showed last fall.

She is a great, quiet starter horse for a first-time buyer. Good ground manners, no vices.

She is up to date on shots and just had her teeth done.

Dolly  TB, no papers

2011        15.3h         $7500

This is a quiet mare. I am 77 years old and I've ridden her a lot. She is sensible, and has three good gaits. She goes wherever you point her, trots cavalletti and jumps. We have used her in the lesson program for several years and are selling her because our lesson program isn't as large as it was in past years.  She carries any level rider, is very sensible, no vices and has never dropped a rider even with beginners or unbalanced riders.

We have just decided to sell he and don't have video of her yet. She is a great find for someone looking to ride on the trail, in the ring and maybe do a little local showing.
